My most favorite salad happens to be a Russian potato salad known as Olivier salad (Оливье салат). I will admit, Olivier salad does not look very appetizing. And the main sauce, mayonnaise, does not sound appetizing for a salad either.

However, it somehow works very well when it is all combined together with potatoes, pickles, carrots, peas, and eggs. But if you do not like mayo or you are worried about intaking too many calories, you can always use sour cream as a substitute. The flavor is still very good either way. The best part is that it is very easy to make and it tastes best served cold since it is a salad.
