Many westerners learn of durian from social media like Insta, Youtube, TikTok, etc. and unfortunately for a durian lover, these posts are usually negative. They’d be over-exaggerated reactions of disgust, gagging, claiming it smells like smelly socks, etc. 

However, these reactions always irk me. Most of the time these content creators don’t even eat it, they smell the fruit and immediately judge it. IMO you can’t judge something by the way it looks, smells, etc. and your opinion is invalid unless you try it. 

Well anyways, I highly urge everyone to give it a try. If the smell deters you, then pinch your nose and bottoms up. Don’t knock it till you try it
