Conchs Water: One of My Favorite Seafood Dishes
When you’re walking on the beach I’m sure you’ve seen conch shells. One of your first thoughts would be to blow air in it which results in a unique sound. However, my first thought would be to eat conchs water, conch fritters or curry conchs.
Growing up in Antigua , I would eat conchs water and fried dumplings with my family every Saturday. It was so delicious and I looked forward to it every week.
On occasions, I would eat curry conchs with white rice or fungee. The curry flavor brings out the taste of food. I know you’re wondering what is fungee. It is made with cornmeal, salt, butter, water and okras. It is turned continuously in a pot until it is smooth and then it is molded into a round shape. Fun fact! Fungee is apart of the national dish of Antigua and Barbuda.
