After Practice Munchies

By Joyce Wong    08.10.23

With Baruch being in the heart of the city, there are many accessible places to grab a quick bite with my teammates before or after practice. On the corner across from Baruch, there’s a Coco (bubble tea shop) where students can get a discount by showing their ID. You can catch me there at least twice a week. Of course, there’s a Starbucks directly across the street full of sleep-deprived college students.

Gravitating more to actual food, there is a plethora of different types of food to pick from whether you’re craving a chicken sandwich or tacos, you can find it by Madison Square Park. My go-to spots are Dig, Sticky’s, Chopt, or Summer Salt. I usually find myself at Dig virtually every day since the bowls do the job of filling me up after losing all those calories at swim practice. At Dig you can choose from their premade meals or customize your own bowl. My typical custom bowl contains half rice, half farro for the base, cauliflower with garlic and Parmesan, along with whatever looks good. I highly suggest trying out the garlic aioli, it is one of the best sauces I’ve tried there thus far. There are definitely more food places surrounding Baruch, but the stretch across from the park is filled with reliable choices.
