Can weebs and otakus have successful love lifes?
Otakus forever alone?
It is the general stereotype that Otakus are disgusting people who are 2d anime characters obsessed and lack a grasp on the real world; generally destined to be forever alone. The anime Wotakoi: Love is hard for otaku, a slice of life anime, takes the concept of Otakus trying to fit into normal society; following the love story of 2 couples who all work for a corporate company. As such, we follow the main character, Narumi Momose as she develops her love life with Hirotaka Nifuji all the while managing her many Otaku hobbies.
Personally, I think this anime is an amazing representation of a healthy Otaku lifestyle and attacks the typical stereotype of Otakus. Two of my favorite quotes are
It’s better if you hide it. Otakus aren't popular.
Why don’t you find someone who’s accepting of the fact that you’re an otaku?
I also highly recommend checking out Wotakoi's extremely addicting and catchy opening song.
Anyways, as of now, both the anime and manga are complete so I’d recommend bingeing to your heart's content.
