1920s mixed in with Dominican Bachata?

User Rating: / 0

Aventura has made it pretty far. From starting out as a bachata quarted in a low-income Dominican neighborhood in the Bronx to attaining platinum status across Europe and Latin America, Aventura has amassed immense popularity. Their latest album At Last has debuted in the top five of the Billboard 200 and its singles have peaked in the top 5 of the Billboard Hot Latin Charts. Aventura is stepping up their game again in the music video for Su Veneno, the third single off their bestselling album. The video is not your typical cheap-looking bachata clip. Instead, the video features stunning cinematography, expensive costumes and overall classy look reminiscent of the 1920s flapper style. The girls are not shaking their money makers here but actually have roles (!) as the love interests. The song itslef is typical bachata with the whole "melancholic hearbreak" theme mixed in. But the video has elevated them from generic bachata status into a possible contender for the countless video awards that MTV has to offer.
