People always wonder which of the world's biggest film industries is bigger- Bollywood or Hollywood? Well, lets look at the facts. Bollywood began in 1899 and Hollywood began 11 short years later in 1910. Annually, Bollywood produces approximately 1000 movies for 3 billion people all over the world. Hollywood, on the other hand, produces half as many movies than Bollywood (approx. 500) for an audience of 2.6 billion. So, why do people always say that Bollywood is trying to achieve the fame associated with Hollywood? Clearly, Bollywood seems to be more productive and reaches a greater audience. However, Hollywood's revenue is greater than Bollywood's; actually, Hollywood's revenue is double that of Bollywood. So, it all comes down to which one of the two makes a greater impact on the world. I feel that only time will tell whether Hollywood or Bollywood is more infuential.
